This magnificent log house with towering ceilings and fine stonework opens onto an old barn foundation that is reminiscent of an old court yard in Europe. It is nestled above a beautiful private lake on over 300 acres of forest which can be explored by wandering along the miles of private trails.
The entire house is appointed with fine furniture and decorated with interesting and unique features. The gourmet kitchen is equipped with a heritage electric stove, all the amenities you would require.
There are 3 bedrooms, the master on the upper level with sitting room and gas fireplace has a four-piece ensuite, the second bedroom on the upper level has a reading nook, electric fireplace and 3-piece ensuite. The upper loft has a comfortable sitting area, writing nook and sitting library.
The handmade pine staircase takes you to the main floor living room, kitchen and dining area with walk out to the upper deck overlooking the lake and court yard. A powder room and laundry room are on the main floor. The floor to ceiling wood fireplace is the main feature in the living room.
The third bedroom is on the main level with full ensuite featuring a beautiful soaker tub. Next to the bedroom is a sitting room with sofa bed, games table and Television. The cottage has Wi-Fi so streaming Netflix can be an evening past time.
At the waterfront a spacious deck and lounging area with large dock and crystal-clear water to enjoy watch the wildlife above and below the surface. The bottom is soft and natural, swimming from the dock is recommended. A swim raft, kayak, canoe and paddle boat are there for your use and hours of enjoyment exploring the pristine private lake, shared by 3 other family cottages. The fire pit overlooks the lake, with an easy stroll down the path to the lake.
The Log House has been in the family for generations. It is tastefully decorated in family antiques from around the globe, China, India, and historical Canada. This is a pet friendly cottage.
A short 4 minute drive to the village of Kinmount, where you will find grocery, LCBO, and the Historic Kinmount Theatre – a must see!
The town of Minden is 20 minutes, with Hospital, larger grocery, retail, veterinarians and restaurants.
The owners will greet you on arrival and are available for any questions you may have.

All of our cottages are checked in between each group of Guests to confirm that everything is in order for your arrival.
You will need to bring proper size life jackets for everyone participating in water activities.

Outdoor sitting area at the dock, entry to the water is off the end of the dock. The lake is crystal clear with natural plants at the waters edge.

There is a deposit required of 30% of the rental rate plus the Service Fee and HST upon booking and we will use your VISA, MC or Discover card for that.
The balance is due 30 days in advance of your arrival by email transfer, post-dated cheque or credit card.
