Family Activities to Enjoy While Staying at Sanctuary:

• South facing for all-day sun on the dock, grab the double kayak or SUP for endless fun on the water
• Shoreline entry into soft sand bottom, with gradual drop off past the dock (3-4ft). Please note this is not a cottage you can cannonball off the dock from. Water shoes are suggested in August when the invasive snail population increases.
• During the day, enjoy a game (or tournament!) of Horseshoes. Later, sing campfire songs and roast s'mores at the lakeside fire pit under the stars
• Head into the town of Minden less 10 minutes away; float down the Gull River, dine, shop, walk the trails, and more! See the Locations tab for recommendations

Important Guest Information

All of our cottages are checked in between each group of Guests to confirm that everything is in order for your arrival.

Important guest information:

• Water from the taps comes in from the well; it is tested safe to drink. If in the event of a power failure there is a water dispenser - compatible with 5 gal jugs
• Bed sheets and indoor and outdoor towels are not provided - you will need to bring your own. Bed sizes are indicated in the listing.
• You will need to clean the cottage and grounds as well as remove all garbage and food when you check out
• Should we have to do an emergency clean and/or remove any garbage/recycling, fees will be applied per the Terms and Conditions you agreed to.
• BBQ Gas is provided.
• Smoking/vaping and the lighting of candles is not permitted within the cottage.
• Please be sure to watch and clean up after your dog and do not allow it to wander to the neighbour’s property.

Remember to bring:

• Properly sized life jackets for everyone participating in water activities (pertaining to summer bookings).
• Toilet paper, paper towel and tissue - a starter supply is provided so please replenish what you use.
• Firewood - If intending to use the cottage fire pit, please ensure you source firewood local to the cottage to prevent the transit of invasive species to our area.
• A flashlight with fresh batteries for those dark evenings!

A Welcome Book, located on the kitchen table, contains important guest information upon your arrival - please ensure you familiarize yourself with its contents, such as:

• garbage information
• location of cleaning supplies
• power failure instructions
• primary contact information.
