This is a tongue-and-groove western red cedar cottage built in 1962; you can smell the lovely cedar accents as you enter the cottage. Sharing 160 acres with only one other cottage on the SE end of Canning Lake, this evergreen-forested getaway is amazing as are the quiet natural surroundings that offer complete privacy at the cottage.

The open beams and the aged hue of the natural cedar in every room induce a calm traditional cottage feel. The dining and living room provide a relaxing open area to play games, eat great meals and watch movies together.

The kitchen provides all the basic amenities. The 3 bedrooms are comfortable with 1 Double bed in the Master and 2 single beds in each of the other 2 bedrooms. The bathroom is a 3 piece with shower stall.

Outside you will find a screened-in Gazebo, Chiminea fireplace, and a gently sloped walk to the shoreline where there is a dock and 12' aluminum rowboat for your use. You will enjoy sun filled days and by night the sounds of nature in this gently used acreage. The swimming area is rugged granite with a hard sand gradual walk-in, or you can use the swim ladder on the dock. There may be weeds in late August, depending on the water levels. Canning Lake is part of Haliburton's signature 5-lake chain for endless hours of boating. There are many varieties of fish including Muskie, S&L Mouth Bass, and Pickerel.

Nearby Activities Water toy rentals and boat launch are available just 15 minutes away. If you want to seek out attractions, there are restaurants, local art and culture, hiking trails and scenic lookouts near by. Excellent golf is within 20 minutes. For more extensive shopping needs and groceries, Minden is a 10 minutes drive, and picturesque Haliburton, with its summer festivals, concerts, fairs, and shopping, is approx 20 minutes.
