• The Boshkung Barn sleeps 4; a loft bedroom with 1 queen and 1 double bed and a main floor 3-piece bathroom. Multiple gathering spaces, expansive dining space, a bar on each floor, fully equipped kitchen with two full-size fridges, stage for a band, pool table, hot tub, and lovely heated screened-in porch for extra dining/gathering space.
• Two fully winterized Cabins (with electricity) each sleep 2; a separate privy house with electric composting toilet situated between the Cabins. Electric wall-mount fireplace, TV, mini fridge, and coffee machine in each make these private humble abodes cozy and comfortable.

• You don’t have to go far: Bring your x-country skis or use the provided snowshoes to enjoy the groomed trails on the property through the Red pine forest.
• The Owners tend to their horses and sheep daily; walk down and have a visit with the farm animals.
• Direct access onto Boshkung Lake for great ice fishing opportunities.
• Visit the Haliburton Forest for fall and winter adventures and dog-sledding tours – only 30 min away.
• Enjoy a day on the slopes at Sir Sam's Ski & Ride – 25 minutes door to door.

Pre-arranged Winter Experiences at Boshkung Acres:

• Spend the day onsite using the trails and come back to the “warming hut” Dome to thaw and have a cookout on the BBQ. The Owners will arrange to start the wood-burning fireplace for you with advance notice.  
• Set the stage for a pond hockey tournament on the Boshkung Acres pond by bringing your skates, helmets and sticks! We can advise if the conditions are safe for skating, just ask! The Owners require a safety waiver to access the pond in the winter months, so please let us know if you intend to skate during your stay.

At The Farley Lake House: Lake water runs through a UV filtration system. Propane fireplace on main floor and electric wall mount fireplace in main floor bedroom. Laundry house with side-by-side laundry machines to the right of The Farley Lake House, available for use during your stay, in addition to the stackable washer/dryer inside The Farley Lake House. 

At The Boshkung Barn: Lake water runs through a UV filtration system. In-floor radiant heat on the main floor keeps the entire barn warm and cozy. Electric fireplace under the TV in the loft for additional cozy feelings on cold winter days. Electric heaters in the porch to keep the chill off. 

At The Cabins: Utilize the heated privy house with electric composting toilet. Electric wall-mount fireplaces keep you warm. 

At The Observation Dome (not to be used as a sleeping accommodation): Off-grid. Requires water to be brought up. BBQ available for cooking. Standard well-maintained outhouse for use.

Swimmers itch has been reported in this area of the lake. Recommend to dry off after leaving the water close to shore due to potential irritation. Swimming out in the deep part of the lake is not an issue, this is related to the shallow water only.

Important Guest Information

All of our cottages are checked in between each group of Guests to confirm that everything is in order for your arrival.

Important guest information:

• Tap water runs through a UV filtration system, water system on the fridge also runs through a filtration system, great for drinking.
• Swimmers itch has been reported in this area of the lake. It is strongly recommended to towel off after your swim to prevent irritation. 
• Pillows and blankets are provided.   
• Bed sheets, indoor towels and kitchen linens are provided.
• You will need to tidy the cottage and grounds as well as remove all garbage and food when you check out.
• Should we have to do an emergency clean and/or remove any garbage/recycling, fees will be applied per the Terms and Conditions you agreed to.
• BBQ Gas is provided.
• Smoking/vaping and the lighting of candles is not permitted within the cottage.
• Please be sure to watch and clean up after your dog and do not allow it to wander to the neighbour’s property.

Remember to bring:

• Properly sized life jackets for everyone participating in water activities (pertaining to Fall bookings).
• Properly sized helmets if intending to skate on the pond (advance notice is required if you wish to skate during your winter stay)
• Toilet paper, paper towel and tissue - a starter supply is provided so please replenish what you use.
• A flashlight with fresh batteries for those dark evenings!

A Welcome Book, located on the kitchen table, contains important guest information upon your arrival - please ensure you familiarize yourself with its contents, such as:

• garbage information
• location of cleaning supplies
• power failure instructions
• primary contact information.
