Footloose was my young adult life with incredible opportunities to travel, experiencing new cultures and building confidence as a solo female traveller. This season of my life gave me the gift of perspective and adaptability, of which has served me well as an owner of a small business for the past 6 years.
Of all the soils I’ve walked, I rooted ground here in Haliburton and started a beautiful family and built a beautiful community of support.
As a self-proclaimed environmentalist it only made sense that, in 2019, I would find myself as board chair of an environmental non-profit charity that is committed to advancing public awareness and appreciation of ecosystems through education.
Seeking balance is my life's work so, while I wear many different hats, I carve out time to be bare foot in the garden with my family or bird watch along the trails with my dog.

My life has been full of adventure, in keeping with the spirit of my maternal grandfather who was the ultimate adventurer! When one reaches into 6 decades, there can be a lot to tell, so perhaps over a cuppa tea we can explore more. More importantly is where I am now, “being where your feet are” is what I’ve always recommended to my kids. My feet are in a forest full of energy and healing, with chickens, faithful dogs, loving husband and a business that keeps life engaged.
Owning Cottage Care provides new challenges and opportunities each day, and a partner with whom I find true joy in working with.
